There are days that I think like Henri Nouwen, when he said:
“A door opens to me. I go in and am faced with a hundred closed doors.” ― Henri J.M. Nouwen, The Wounded Healer: Ministry in Contemporary Society
If there is ever a guarantee in life it is that we will go through times of trouble. During these times we can rightly feel anger, sadness, loneliness or feel afraid of the outcomes of life. We may be bringing all of our thoughts and feelings to God and wonder to ourselves, “Is God even listening to me?” But God is in our corner more than we will ever realize. He has not abandoned us. The Good Father has not left us alone. He is very close to us, even sitting next to us. He is present through all of our trials. He is smiling on us and cheering us to keep moving forward.
My prayer for you today is a Prayer of Hope & Comfort:
“God – I pray for hope to those who are in despair tonight. Bring peace and comfort to their hearts. Let loneliness melt away as we focus our attention on your presence next to us.” – Amen
